This adapter I think will work with all the 60 Bayonet lenses, I tested the adapter in the Zeiss Distagon 4/50 T* and the client have tested the adapter in the Zeiss Planar 80 with good results.
With this Badpter adapter the Hasselblad people can still using the Lee / Cokin / Hitech holder without paying a lot of money for adapters that only give you vignetting. Today I test the 3DPSlots with 3 guides shooting with a 6D and the Canon 16-35 f2.8 with any vignetting at 16mm f2.8, in the next photos you can compare the shoots. There are only some brands like Lucroit and Fotodiox (WonderPana) that can achieve this results with expensive holders+adapters. The 3DPSlots are designed to work with the Lee holder (Serk, Thefilterdude) and allow you to use 3 filters without any vignetting using ultra-wide lenses, the perfect harmony between the Badpter and the 3DPSlots allow you to take photos easily and faster than other offers.
The problem I tried some technologies to design the 3DPSlots and as a result of this experience I know what technology is necessary to produce the 3DPSlots, I will explain why the slots has to be plastic injected:
Well, my deal is to achieve a cheap retail price for this 3DPSlots, I think that 6€ will be a good price, now I need your ideas about how can the 3DPSlots arrive to the market, I think that Crowdfounding it not a good solutions to this project due to it is very specific and with an small market, what do you think?. If anyone has an idea, please post it. I create this table where you can found what screw length is necessary depending how many guides and what kind of guides (filter thickness) are you using in the Lee holder, also I put the screw designation to buy them in any hardware store for some cents ;)
For the people that are using the Lee compatible holder Serk I also put the reference in the bottom of the picture. I update the video of the Badpter for the Lee holder with the new aluminium adapters. In the video you can see that to fit the Badpter in the lens you only have to match the point of the adapter with the red point of your lens (or white, depends of the lens). The Badpter will be available to buy the 1st quarter of July, as I mention in other post the first available version will be the Lee compatible Badpter . The price will be 38€/unit (Bag and Shipping included). Due to the demand all the people that are interested to buy a Badpter could do the reservation at 32€/unit (all included), if you are interested visit the shop to fill in all the info (no pre-paid). Debido a la demanda todas las personas que estén interesadas en comprar el Badpter pueden hacer su reserva a un precio de 32€/unidad (todo incluido), si estás interesado visita la tienda para rellenar los datos (no hay prepago). 17/06/14: Good news, we get a good price for the shipment and due to this we can offer a lower price ;) Buenas noticias, hemos podido mejorar el precio del envio, por eso hemos podido bajar un poco el precio ;) The last weekend I did a fast test of the Benro filters in conjunction with the Haida and Lee Big Stopper, and I used the next material to do the shoots:
Este último fin de semana probé los filtros Benro en conjunto con el Haida y el Lee Big Stopper, y para las tomas usé:
Yesterday I went with some Canonistas (thanks!!) people to test the slots with an EOS 5D Mark III and the EF 16-35 f/2.8L II USM, the day was not so suitable to take photos due to a powerful fog coming from the sea but I test the new slots design with excellent results. In the first test I used the original UW ring Lee adapter with the new slots, in the first shot the holder is at 90º and in the second at 45º. In the second test I used the C88L Badpter with the new slots, in the first shot the holder is at 90º and in the second at 45º. The photos don't have any RAW adjustment and as you can see there aren't any vignetting....excellent!!!
I will try to shot with the new slot design this weekend with a 5D and a 16-35mm to see how it works.... It's possible to shot in FF with an Ultra-Wide angle lens and a Lee holder without vignetting?, I will tell you the next week...
Yes, it is possible and I will test a new design slot that don't have vignetting in a FF using a Canon 16-35 f/2.8 lens (theoretically).
These slots could be a good complement to do an improvement pack for the Lee holder in combination with the Badpter. First test of the aluminium "sample" adapter with a Lee compatible holder. Today I test the T77L adapter in the Tokina AT-X 11-16 PRO DXII and I now I can say that it works pefect. Now it's possible to buy it in the shop.
Today I visit one of the beautiful beaches near my town to take some photos with the compatible Lee adapter (C83L), I post the photos in the Lee adapter section to show how it works with three slots at 10mm in an APC-S camera. I used the Lee Big Stopper filter to take a photo and it's very difficult not to have flares with the Lee holder, I think I should design a new aluminium holder... or maybe I have one designed... To see the new photos visit the Lee adapter section.
If you have a Lee holder and you want to continue using your round filters, now you can. I finished to test the C83L and works like a charm ;) You can see how it works in the video. The adapter it's available for the next lenses:
I finish the adapter design for the Tokina 11-16 lens and at this moment denatek is printing the adapter, I hope I will finish to do some test the next week.
It will be available for the Lee and Cokin holder. Do you think is it interesting? , give a comment... http://www.denatek.com/ Some time ago I used to shot with a B+W ND 3.0-1,000X SC round filter with spectacular results until it fall off to the ground... due to this I started to study the best alternative in the 100x100 size, because it allow me to use ND grads without any vignetting. I have been searching for a square (100x100mm) ND3.0 filter and I found this list:
There are miles of reviews about the Lee Big Stopper and others filters, like the Hitech ND3.0, but now there are a new competitor in the filters sector, Haida, a Chinese company that are making high quality filters using Scott glasses (the same glass used by B+W) with a good price. In will not to do an extensive or professional review because I'm not an expert in filters. Test equipment:
I shot in a cloudy/rainy day with some sun rays once in a while, I know it was not the best day to test the filters. The photos have been posted without any retouch, directly from the Adobe Camera Raw. In the photos below you can see that the Lee (5950K) is cooler and the Hiada (5000K) is warmer, but not so warmer like the B+W round filter (see here) for my the photo have the perfect temperature with true colors. In the next ones you can see a 100% crop of the images. I don't know if I'm wrong, but for my the Haida have a better definition. And to finish an extreme b+w (yes, I love the exploded sky)... Well, for my is very clear, if you want an excellent glass, buy the Haida filter.
In the next links you can download the raw files if anyone want to analyze the photos. * Prices in Amazon.com (17/02/2014) I am very glad to announce this good news.
One of the most professional and good standing photography shop in Barcelona will support me in this project. Soon could be possible to buy 3DPideas products in this shop and also play with them in theirs photographic workshops. In this shop you will find all the hi-tech photographic technology that you can imagine (the Leica section is incredible), if anyone are visiting Barcelona I recommend you to visit this shop. Lee have his own Ultra Wide adapters to use with ultra angular lenses that allow you take photos without any vignetting, but is it possible to improve this adapters?, are you using the Lee holder and want to use screwed filters?. At this moment I'm testing the adapter C83L (that has been designed to work with the Lee holder) with a Lee compatible plastic holder. The advantages of using this adapters in my opinion are:
